I'm interested to improve my site and am wondering what is the most efficient and effective way of getting feedback, critiques, and comments from the people who visit the site.

There are more advanced and expensive options such as
Dynamic Logic. You simply insert a tag on your site and they handle the rest.
Another option which requires more work, is to build a suggestion board. Take a look at Yahoo! TV's: http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=tv&sort=rating
To get even simpler you can have a suggestion box on your site, allowing users to easily submit feedback. If that solution is to much work, place a line in your footer saying: have any feedback? email us at you address.
