What is the best way to generate customer traffic besides word of mouth in the restaurant industry?

I just opened a franchise here in Texas. I'd like to avoid giving away discounted meals and free samples.

Web 2.0! Video Marketing! Myspace! If I just opened a restaurant, I could fill it up in a matter of a few weeks just by doing a few videos and using Myspace. Have you heard of Friendblaster Pro? It's a software that allows you to send out hundreds of friend requests per day in any market. Some people mistakingly think Myspace is just for kids. However, the dominant crowd there is between 18-35 years old! And over 250,000 new accounts are created there EACH DAY! No easier way to get in touch with your market than there. And it's free. I'd be happy to hook you up with a free copy of that software. Just let me know.

Hi Rockmum,

I hope your restaurant business is going well. Here is a marketing program to spread the word about your restaurant Give away free international calling cards custom-designed with your restaurant's logo, etc. Then by your customers' permission, mobile message them your discounts on meals, new menue items, etc. How else does this system benefit your restaurant?
