What happens to a money order after it is cashed?

For example, personal check usually end up back at the bank it came from or that
bank passes it to account holder that wrote it...but what happens to non-bank money order (like one you get at supermarket, check-cashing place, etc.) after its
cashed?

I believe the money orders are destroyed. I've never heard of being able to have a money order returned. This is a great question. out of curiosity why do you ask?

  1. Dunce: In answer to your question, I load my debit mastercard via money order, which I send to Trycera, and it asked me to put my 16 digit card number on each money order. This
seemed a bit unsafe to me!
