This is very interesting. Can anyone help me?

3 months ago I purchased my first home. I had credit issues during the process but payed everything off. This past week I received a collection notice for over $1,000 in the mail from an organization that I never heard of before. I called the collection agency and they said that it was reported in 2005 but listed as NOT to report to the credit bureaus. Huh? This "thing" was not on my report 3 months ago when my broker went through my report with a fine toothed comb.

I am considering blowing it off............but that's what got me in trouble in the first place. Can anyone suggest where I can go to get help with this? It doesn't make sense at all.

You have to look into it right away, sorry to say but it might be I.d. Theft. A company that specializes in credit clean up and restoration should be able to help. U might also want to contact a lawyer, or look for legal advice.
