I filled a trademark application 4 months ago and have not heard anything back. How long does the process take to complete?

I performed a search before filling for the trademark to make sure the name was available, which it was. When I filled I received an email notification and have since not heard anything.

What is the average completion time required?

It's depend on the backlog...

But you could check the status of your application on line http://tarr.uspto.gov
When you enter your application number, you should get the info. about your application such as the examiner, status, etc. You can also call the examiner by clicking on the examiner's name. Talk to the examiner when the application will be examined. Good Luck!
