I am looking to start a business. Where is there demand right now and in the future?

I love business. I will do just about anything because its not the industry that interests me, its the business process.

If you're asking "where" as in what industry then the responses just given were well directed. if you're asking "where" geographically - asia, particularly southeast asia is booming. Demand is huge but it's just the 2nd inning. If you're in the States, consider yourself a timetraveler - when you travel to developing nations.. you already know what's going to happen. that being said, what's the one business you'd want to start knowing that?

  1. TonyLiu: codacoda, do you factor in any risk associated with investing in southeast asia?

There is literally nothing better than being your own boss. The true American dream, right?

There will always be a demand for business in this country, in the world. If not, we would all be in serious trouble. More specifically demand can be discussed based on the industry that interests you. An obvious example, if you were thinking of becoming a realtor in Arizona, I'd have to say the demand doesn't equate to it being the right time to start a business.

Go out there and take smart risks.

What industries interest you?

  1. patricksb: The most important thing, as said above is passion for what you want to do. More then likely you will be putting in more hours and have more stress so you have to love it.

    Also important
1.Cash flow, you can have alot of sales but if you have large bills every 30 days but 90-120 day sales, you could be in big trouble.

A bank will want to see your in/outflow of cash assets, and Acts. Billable and payable before giving line of credits
