Can a judge hear cases from his former employer, a lawyer?

Not necessarily a conflict. However, a judge must ask himself if he can be unbiased in such a situation. Length of time since the employment is an important factor. An attorney may raise the issue of impropriety if there is a question concerning a judge's possible bias.
